Mission Statement: St. Michael’s Christian Community, located on the Menominee Indian Reservation, is a diverse Christian community reaching out to all residents, learning, loving, sharing and communicating with one another through the teachings and practices celebrated in the Mass & the holy sacraments of the Catholic Church by integrating sacred symbols and spiritual practices of the Menominee.

A Note From Your Pastor

Easter Sunday is the day we celebrate the Feast of the Resurrection of Jesus. His resurrection is the foundation of our faith. This is because Jesus showed us when he rose from the dead after three days in the tomb that he was no mere man but God.

The resurrection of Jesus inspired and encouraged the apostles, who were despondent after his death, to preach the gospel to the nations. Of course, the resurrection was the central point of their preaching.

Like the apostles, let us take strength from the resurrection of Jesus in the midst of the challenges that we encounter today, knowing that he is the all-powerful and all-loving God who at the end of our life will reward our efforts with our own resurrection.

Happy Easter!

In Jesus Christ,

Fr. Nonito

Mass will be Live Streamed on Sunday at 9 am. Please go to St. Michael’s Facebook page:  St. Michael’s Church to watch this live Mass.

Happy Easter

We prayed, fasted and gave alms—and now we rejoice because Christ is risen! Our Lenten journey with CRS Rice Bowl challenges us as we begin the Easter season to share the joy of having a loving God that is alive and accompanies us always. Let’s do the same by being present to our global family by caring for their material and spiritual needs. Don’t forget to turn in your CRS Rice Bowl to the Parish Office.

Religious Education Update

Due to the current COVID situation, St. Michael’s Faith Formation classes will not be meeting.   If you wish to have packets sent to your home, please call the parish office or pick up a form in the entrance to church.

Welcome to our new Priest, Fr. Hanz

I am Fr. Hanz Christian Purcia Borbor, a 44-year-old priest born on September 21, 1975. I finished my primary and secondary studies in my native place in Tigaon, Camarines Sur, Philippines. I accomplished my Philosophical studies in 1994 and completed my Theological studies in 2003 at the Holy Rosary Major Seminary in Naga City, Philippines.

After long years of formation in the seminary, I was ordained deacon on June 27, 2003. As a newly ordained deacon, Metropolitan Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Caceres in Naga City and Saint Anthony of Padua Parish, Presentacion, Camarines Sur, Philippines became my parish assignments.

After a year of service as a deacon, I was ordained priest on June 11, 2004, in my native place at Saint Raphael the Archangel Parish, Tigaon, Camarines Sur, Philippines.

Saint Mary Magdalene Parish in Bula, Camarines Sur, Philippines, was my first assignment as a parochial vicar for two years. Subsequently, I became an assistant pastor for two years at the Parish of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in Garchitorena, Camarines Sur. Right after my stay in Garchitorena, I became an assistant pastor at Saint Anthony of Padua Parish, Iriga City, for two years.

My last and shortest assignment as an assistant pastor that lasted for only ten days was at the Parish of Saint Martin de Porres, Tagongtong, Goa, Camarines Sur.  Right after my assignment at Saint Martin de Porres, the Archbishop of Caceres appointed me as the new pastor of a coastal Parish of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, Caramoan, Camarines Sur, Philippines from 2010-2015. My first experience as a pastor prepared me to handle another parish assignment again as a pastor in Mater Salutis Parish in Naga City, Philippines, happen to be my home for nearly five years from 2015 to 2020.

On April 9, 2020, the Archbishop of Caceres assigned me as a missionary priest here in Wisconsin. In my almost 17 years in the priesthood, I have met different people in various places and encountered several challenges that motivated me to serve more the Lord and his people.

St. Michael Prayer

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.  May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.  Amen

Easter Prayer

Make us an Easter people, Lord, rejoicing, renewed, resurrected. May the wonder of Easter morning color every dawn we see. Teach us to cherish each day as a gift from You, as you roll away the stone of yesterday’s sin and let us begin anew. Show us that, just like Jesus, our lives can be extraordinary if we trust in You. Give us this gift of eternal Easter Lord, that Your Church may be the gospel message You intended.  Amen.
