 A Note from Father Nonito

The gospel this Sunday gives us a surprising twist which seems to be really unbelievable. This is because the master serves the servants at table, having found them trustworthy and faithful, instead of the expected scene of the servants serving their newly-returned master.

We are all servants of God. And as his servants, we should faithfully give our service. We should be vigilant as well, for God can come at an unexpected time. Blessed are we if we are always ready to open the door for him. At any point in our life, we must be ready to meet God, our Master and Creator, all the while doing what we should be doing.

God, in his loving kindness, will reward people who have carried out their duties and observed his commands. God will make them sit at the divine banquet, serving them himself. It will be an experience worth looking forward to.

Let us always be faithful and vigilant servants of God.

In Jesus Christ,

The Mass – A slice at a time

The Rite of Peace

This rite of Peace, by which the Church entreats peace and unity for herself and for the whole family, and the faithful express to each other their ecclesial communion and mutual charity before communicating in the Sacrament. As for the actual sign of peace to be given, the manner is to be established by the Conferences of Bishops in accordance with the culture and customs of the peoples. However, it is appropriate that each person, in a sober manner, offer the sign of peace only to those who are nearest.

Administrative Assistant St. Francis and St. Mary

St. Francis Solanus & St. Mary’s is hiring a 19 hour per week administrative assistant.

The parish center administrative assistant is responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the parish office functions and volunteers in addition to providing administrative services for the pastor. The Administrative assistant is expected to perform a wide variety of moderately difficult and complex tasks. Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter to the parish office. This position ultimately reports to the Parish Administrator.

I have accepted an ELL Instructional Assistant position with the Wittenberg-Birnamwood school district. Annual Parish Mission Appeal August 10th & 11th

Our speaker this weekend is Fr. Jeremy Morais. He was born in Canada and educated in the United States. He has been a missionary in Madagascar for over 30+ years. He is home for a short time and enjoys sharing his missionary experience.

Having brought the fullness of Life to our world when He rose from the dead, Jesus sent his disciples to share this life with all of creation. “They went forth and preached everywhere” (Mk 16:20). The Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette minister to people of every race, language, culture and way of life – beginning at the La Salette Shrine in France where our Blessed Mother appeared in 1846. Her final words, “Well, my children, you will make this known to all my people,” echo Jesus’ Gospel mandate. It is little wonder that the La Salette Congregation has always been mission orientated. When called upon by the Vatican to preach the Gospel in foreign lands, they eagerly responded. This spirit brought them to mission in 27 countries, especially among the poor in Angola, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Haiti, India, Madagascar, Myanmar and the Philippines. With your cooperation, the Missionaries of La Salette can continue to provide spiritual and financial assistance to these mission countries as they bring God’s reconciling message to the poor.
