 A Note from Father Nonito

Jesus understood our craving for security through possessions. But he wishes that we put that yearning in proper perspective. And to emphasize this point, Jesus tells the parable of a rich man who has had a bountiful harvest. His cleverness and resourcefulness have made him rich, and he thinks only of enjoying his wealth. However, Jesus calls him a fool. What is wrong with him? He is really a fool for thinking that his possessions will secure his life; he is told that his life will be taken that very night, and so he will leave his possessions behind.

Life on earth is temporary and transitory. The only pursuit that counts is to be rich in matters of God. Treasures of heaven, or wealth with respect to God, are attained through the disposition of possessions according to faith, which means sharing them with others rather than hoarding them for one’s self.

Thus, let us heed to the recommendation of Jesus that we should instead store up treasures in heaven and become rich in what matters to God.

In Jesus Christ,

Fr. Nonito

The Mass – A slice at a time

The Communion Rite

Since the celebration of the Eucharist is the Paschal Banquet, it is desirable that in accordance with the Lord’s command his Body and Blood should be received as spiritual food by those of the faithful who are properly disposed. This is the sense of the fraction and the other preparatory rites by which the faithful are led more immediately to Communion.

Kateri Prayer Circle

Never underestimate the power of prayer. Just one small prayer can change your life. If you or your family members need prayers for any reason, please call one of our Kateri Prayer Circle members, who will in turn call members of their group.  Soon, many prayers will be offered for your specific prayer request.  Please call:

Fay Waupochick 715-799-3437

Leatha Grinhaug 715-994-1098

You can also call the parish office with your Prayer request 715-799-3811.
