Mission Statement: St. Michael’s Christian Community, located on the Menominee Indian Reservation, is a diverse Christian community reaching out to all residents, learning, loving, sharing and communicating with one another through the teachings and practices celebrated in the Mass & the holy sacraments of the Catholic Church by integrating sacred symbols and spiritual practices of the Menominee.

A Note from Your Pastor

Peter wants to walk on the water to be with Jesus and for a short time he does. But his faith is challenged by the strong winds and big waves. He gets scared and begins to sink. He cries for help to Jesus who stretches out his hand to catch his. Jesus rebukes Peter for his little faith and courage.

Like Peter, we want to be able to walk on the waters of life. We want to be on top of every situation. But fear and doubt soon drag us down. Faced by trials, we are overcome by fear. We doubt our ability to cope. We forget about God’s infinite grace.

Let us remember that a man of faith could overcome obstacles and perform deeds that seem impossible.

In Jesus,

Fr. Nonito

Seminarian Collection

Our 15th annual Seminarian Collection is underway.  By now, you have received a letter from Bishop Ricken inviting you to take part in the vocation mission. Please return the pledge card through the mail, or donate online at  Whatever you are able to give is greatly appreciated.

The Mass: A Slice at a time

Whoever is to receive the blessed Eucharist is to abstain for at least one hour before holy communion from all food and drink, with the sole exception of water and medicine.  A priest who, on the same day, celebrates the blessed Eucharist twice or three times may consume something before the second or third celebration, even though there is not an hour’s interval. The elderly and those who are suffering from some illness, as well as those who care for them, may receive the blessed Eucharist even if within the preceding hour they have consumed something. (Canon 919). The instruction Immensae caritatis 3 of the Sacred Congregation for the Discipline of the Sacraments established a minimum wait of a quarter of an hour for cases of illness, for any food that is necessary, though not per se indispensable. This current canon establishes no minimum waiting time; consequently there is no legal . restriction for any one regarding this matter nor in the cases indicated in paragraph 2 and 3 of this same canon. Piety and respect for the sacrament may still require, according to the values of the community, that one avoid receiving communion immediately after consuming some food or drink. To be continued…

Religious Education Update

Due to the current COVID situation, St. Michael’s Faith Formation classes will not be starting this September.  It is our believe that “Parents/guardians are their children’s primary and principal educators”, this guideline and philosophy of the Bishops’ of the United States is our motivation.

We will send packets to help teach children about God’s love and our Catholic faith.  Every month we will send out a month’s worth of weekly lessons that go along with the Gospel reading of the week with other teaching materials about the traditions of our Catholic faith.

If you wish to have the packets sent to your home, please fill out the form insert in the bulletin.

St. Michael Prayer

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.  May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.  Amen

2020 FUNDRAISERS $7,655.00 of $10,000

Due to COVID-19, the 2020 fundraisers at St. Michael’s have been suspended until it is safe to resume. The Festival scheduled for June 27th has been our biggest fundraising event raising on average $10,000. We are suggesting a non-fundraiser fundraiser in lieu of this big event. You do not need to sell or buy raffle tickets, cook anything, bake anything, volunteer your time, work in the heat, set up, clean up or do dishes! We would be grateful for monetary donations to offset the loss of this source of revenue to keep our Parish solvent. Please mail or drop off donations at the Parish office or drop in the collection basket indicating it is for fundraising. We need $2,345 to reach our goal. Thank you for your continued support of our Parish during this time.

Maintenance Position

St. Michael’s is seeking a part-time (19 hrs/wk) maintenance person.  Responsible for maintenance on property, cleaning/disinfecting church/hall, yard work, etc. Please contact the parish office (715) 799-388 for a job application and/or job description.

Kateri Prayer Circle

Never underestimate the power of prayer. Just one small prayer can change your life. If you or your amily members need prayers for any reason, please call one of our Kateri Prayer Circle members, who will in turn call members of their group.  Soon, many prayers will be offered for your specific prayer request.  Please call:

Fay Waupochick 715-799-3437

Leatha Grinhaug 715-851-6838

You can also call the Parish Office to leave requests

 Universal Giving Page

The Catholic Foundation is excited to share with us that they have created a Universal Giving Page at  This is a great resource for our parish as we do not have an on line giving program. It makes giving to our parish simple and easy!  The Catholic Foundation will be cutting a check weekly to our parish along with a report of what families gave to the parish and the amount of each gift.

Holy Hour will be the first Thursday of the month, 6-7pm.
