In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit

In the beginning, there is already the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; the Three (3) Divine Persons in One (1) GOD, or that we call the TRINITY. It needs a thorough discussion on it that can’t be contained in this page, but the essential point is that; God created everything at the beginning, thence, ALL the 3 Persons are also present since they are but One God.

Like I said that it is a long discussion we may not even totally grasp the sense of it, we are expected though to carry it on with our FAITH. In relation to this doctrine, may we just get the sense of; how are we related to this mystery. To start with;

According to the Creation narrative, MAN is created in the image and likeness of God, hence we may identify ourselves to be God’s own, and as a sign of identification we have the Cross, and every time we make the sign of the Cross it is an acknowledgement of who we are as God’s crown of creation; so we say: “In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit”. As we receive the Sacrament of Baptism, which makes it more clear to be identified with God as his ‘sons and daughters’, we were baptized: “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit”. Hence, central in the life of Christians is the Trinity. We are ‘marked’ with this Triune God, what would this mean to us?

We have to live up with this ‘mark’! How? Through LOVE, in FAITH. Love, since love is the action of the Trinity, it is love that ‘makes up’ the Trinity and our response will be our faithfulness to our God and how we may love God and our fellow men. By this we may say, that’s simple; all we need is Faith and Love.

Now, every time we make the sign of the Cross, we say “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit”, let us keep in mind WHO we are, and HOW should we be ‘Who’ we are… May the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit bless us always!

The Mass – A slice at a time

The Manner of Pronouncing the Different Texts

In texts that are to be pronounced in a loud and clear voice, whether by the Priest or the Deacon, or by a reader, or by everyone, the voice should correspond to the genre of the text itself, that is, depending upon whether it is a reading, a prayer, an explanatory comment, an acclamation, or a sung text; it should also be suited to the form of celebration and to the solemnity of the gathering. Consideration should be given to the characteristics of different languages and of the culture of different peoples. Therefore, in the rubies and in the norms that follow, words such as “say” and “proclaim” are to be understood either of singing or of reciting, with due regard for the principles stated here above.

We will be starting Faith Formation again in September, 2018.   Registration forms for the 2018-2019 session are available in the main entrance of church and will be available at the St. Michael’s Family Picnic on June 24th..  Remember to keep God with you this SUMMER! It is important to note that the cemetery/parish does not sell physical property. The purchaser does not take ownership of the land on which the lots(s) are located, but rather the purchaser becomes a holder of burial right(s) in that space. A clear explanation should be included in each cemeteries own “Burial Rights Policy.”

All monies paid for burial rights shall be paid to the parish office. The monies will be credited to the specific cemetery accounts, and a receipt will be given to the purchaser, with a certificate of easement, which is a document that confirms the right(s) of burial.
