Our Catholic community of St. Michael’s, St. Anthony’s, St. Francis’ and St. Mary’s, God be always with us my co-disciples on the way;
As we continue our spiritual journey, it’s again my honor to be in communion with you in this month’s bulletin. After our Clergy Congress held on October of this year (which is the second phase of the Discipleship Formation Program of our Diocese) the program was also given to the Parish Leaders and Staff. The experience was very enlightening in the realization of the Dioceses’ Vision and Mission. One of its foundation is about the Kerygma experience, that is the experience of Christ in every individual’s life; where in your life have you encountered Jesus Christ? We will be guided with the most basic form of the kerygma which is contained in these five elements namely: Creation, Fall, Redemption, Salvation and Re-Creation. I will share my personal kerygma experience and encourage you as well to reflect upon your own Jesus’ encounter in your lives.
Creation
I can’t imagine the immensity of God’s creation, from the moment I come into this world and then right before my eyes I come to be captivated by its beauty, this is the very expression of the love of God. “God is love, God loves me unconditionally, I am his beloved child”; and this love I felt from my parents. I was so blessed to be loved by God through my parents. I am so grateful to the people whom God chose so that I may be born to have a special relationship with Him.
Then the Book of Genesis tells us how man was “created in the image and likeness of God to fill the earth and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and birds of the sky and every living thing that moves on the earth”. Whenever I open my eyes and see the things around me, I always felt that love of God, I can always see God, I am always filled with the grace of God. Whenever I see people I can see God, I can never deny that every person is God’s creation no matter who they are and what they have become.
God continues to create human beings which means He will never stop loving us. Let us conserve the environment we live in and let us always be fascinated by the nature God has provided us to keep and protect them.
Fr. Francis, m.f.
The Mass: A slice at a Time - The Liturgical Year
The more we praise God in the liturgy and see more and more deeply into the symbols of the liturgy, the more we begin to see the meaning of those symbols in everyday life. For example, the way we use water and tell stories about water from the Bible in the liturgy trains us to see water differently. We see God’s love for us in the waters of baptism, and then we begin to see God’s love for us in the water that is all around us. A dripping faucet, a warm morning shower, a backyard creek, a puddle from a spring rain are filled with God’s love.
FAITH FORMATION
This week instead of class, the Faith Formation children and their parents went to 6 pm Mass for All Saints Day. We enjoyed a Potluck dinner in the hall after Mass. The first Wednesday of the month, Faith Formation will celebrate Mass instead of class that night. Parents are encouraged to attend.
