A Note From Father Joel
Dear Co-Travelers,
Gratia et gaudium in fide!
As we celebrate the Solemnity of the kingship of our Lord Jesus Christ, may I simply call our attention to reflect on the strength of our commitment to living as his disciples on the way. Is Jesus truly the ruler of our lives and hearts? And are we using our gifts, talents and material blessings to help build up His kingdom on earth? Do we humbly offer and place ourselves into God’s hands so he can use us in whatever way he deems best? In one of the parables that our Lord and King used to illustrate his relation to us his disciples, when he went to a distant country to claim his kingship, he entrusted his servants some gold coins with expectations of interest by investing them in his absence. One of the main lessons underscored by this parable is that Jesus expects all those who aspire to live as one of his disciples to use the unique talents, along with the material blessings they have been given by God, to help build up God’s kingdom on earth. And practical speaking, what does this mean for our lives? It could mean sharing our money or goods with those in need or with charitable organizations. It could mean sharing our talents at the service of our parish or our community that I strongly believe some of us are already happily doing. Very simply, it means taking every opportunity we can to generously give of our gifts and talents to serve the needs of others.
Today too, the Holy Door of the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy is being closed. For sure abundant blessings of forgiveness were being poured out in our lives that we maybe failed realized or noticed. We thank our Holy Father, Pope Francis for calling our attention and for guiding us in this journey of Mercy. Though the door of the year of mercy is closed today, the door of our heart to let Him in and dine with us in faith and joy is never closed as long as we decide to leave it open for Him, Jesus our King. Please continue to let Him in because His mercy gives always true happiness and peace.
Long live to our King, Jesus!
Co-Traveler,
Fr. Joel, Mf
St. Anthony - St. Michael’s Parishes
It is getting more and more difficult to keep a positive outlook with our Religious Education Program. Each week fewer and fewer children are showing up. I am not sure what is going on but if this trend continues I fear that neither St. Anthony’s nor St. Michael’s will have a Religious Education program. If you have any suggestions on how to have more children attend and have the children already enrolled continue to attend please, let us know. The time for enrolling for this year is coming to an end, if you still want your child to participate in Religious Education for the 2016-2017 session be sure to call or come to the next class, on Wednesday, November 30th at 5:45. Classes are held on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:15 in Barrett Hall. Classes run now until the end of April. For more information call me at 715-851-2947.
This week the children in 2nd grade on up attended the Hunters’ Mass and the younger children learned about Jesus the King of Kings! Also the children received Advent Calendars. Advent begins on Sunday, November 27th till Saturday, December 24th. The calendars are designed to help the children to understand the true meaning of Christmas, Jesus’s birthday!
Christmas is near any child who wishes to participate in the Annual Christmas Eve Nativity play during Mass are welcome to join in the celebration. Both St. Anthony and St. Michael’s will be having a Christmas Eve Mass. So children from both parishes are welcome to participate. If you are a parishioner from St. Anthony’s let Mary know at 715-756-2361, if you are parishioners at St. Michael’s let me know at 715-851-2947.
Religious Education classes will not be in session next week, Wednesday, 23rd. We wish everyone a Most Blessed Thanksgiving.

Thank-you to all who have volunteered and to those who donate books. To continue, we need people willing to share an enjoyable hour on a Sunday morning after Mass. It is an enjoyable volunteering experience! Sign- up sheet in back of church. Any questions please call Kathy Lohmiller. 715-526-9385.
