A note from your Deacon by Mark Fuller

The Lord is Risen!  Easter is here, Alleluia!

This great joy cannot be kept for just one day. Remember that Easter is a season.  Fifty days to ponder the good news….  Jesus Christ is victor over sin and death.  A Spanish hymn from Ecuador, Jesucristo, Rey Glorioso,   captures this truth and invites to sing our own joyful Easter song:

Jesus Christ, the King of glory,
Lord of goodness, love and light,
Victor over death and evil,
Rose in majesty and might. Alleluia.

As the Saints in Heaven praise Him
With their joyful Easter song,
So on earth, you faithful servants,
Honor Him with heart and tongue. Alleluia.

Let us remember that “ We” are an Easter people and “Alleluia” is our song. Let us sing “Alleluia” here and now in this life, even though we are oppressed by various worries, so that we may sing it one day in the world to come, when we are set free from all anxiety” (St. Augustine).

He has truly risen!  Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

In His Mercy,

Deacon Mark

FAITH FORMATION UPDATE

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS:

Happy Blessed Easter!  We are looking forward to the next few weeks as we end this year’s sessions of Religious Education.  We have three classes left, April 19th, April 26th and May 3rd.  We are seeking you help in how to organize the next session, starting in September.  If you have any ideas or suggestion on how we should structure the program, please, let us know.  Do you want it to start the same? Do you want us to have the classes on a different day? After Sunday Mass?  Do you want to be given the materials and each family teach their own youth?  How do you want the Faith Formation, Religious Education Program structured?  You can give us your thoughts be either calling me at 715-851-2947 or e-mail me your ideas at lmaczuzak@icloud,com.  We look forward to your thoughts! Thank you.

Families of First Communicants Just a reminder that this year each family will be celebrating their child’s First Communion individually.  Each family needs to contact Father and set up a date for their children to receive their First Communion.  Call the rectory at 715-799-3811 and talk with Father Joel about what Saturday or Sunday mass you wish to celebrate this wonderful sacrament!  If you have any questions about this please, be sure to call be at 715-851-2947.

God bless,

Lois Maczuzak

Helping Christians in the Holy Land:

It is critical that we continue to support the Christians who are living in the land of Jesus’ birth, life, crucifixion and resurrection. These faithful Christians are surrounded by a majority Jewish and Islamic population.  With your support, we can help to ensure that Christians living in the Holy Land now and future generations of Christians will have a place to live and thrive. Please help the Christians in the Holy Land with your contribution to the Good Friday Collection

Sharing Faith from Around the World

With little water, minimal electricity and no money, the people of our Elias Piña mission in the Dominican Republic have abundant faith.  In this land of poverty, many people do not have the resources to find a job or the ability to attend Mass.  The mission in Elias Piña helps provide necessary resources by attending to the physical and spiritual needs of these communities.

Although you may not be able to physically travel to the Dominican Republic to help these communities, your support of the Bishop's Appeal can share our faith with them from across the globe.  Think about sharing the abundance of your gifts with others by giving a gift to the Bishop's Appeal.

If you have not made a gift to the Bishop's Appeal, please prayerfully consider the impact it would have on our parishes and communities and make a gift today at www.catholicfoundationgb.org/give.

For more information, contact your parish, visit the Bishop's Appeal website at www.catholicfoundationgb.org, or call Debbie toll-free at 877-500-3580, ext. 8184.

HOUSE SMUDGING: If anyone would like their house smudged, please contact Parish Office (715) 799-3811

From the Office of Safe Environment of the Diocese of Green Bay – Did you know?  The Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People was established by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCBB) in June, 2002. It is a comprehensive blueprint for addressing allegations of abuse of minors. The Charter includes guidelines for reconciliation, healing, accountability and prevention of future acts of abuse. Our own Bishop Ricken has been very supportive and personally involved in meeting with abuse victims, offering prayer services of healing, and overseeing all efforts in our Diocese to ensure that the Charter has been fully implemented in the Diocese of Green Bay.

Rice Bowls taken for Lent can be returned to the collection by April 23rd or the Parish office.  Thank you.
