Anamehawikamek Welcome

We are a Christian community called together to grow in faith and to celebrate God’s love for us in the Mass and Sacraments of the Catholic Church.  Through the gospel message and our common worship we are challenged to give Christian witness by our lives and service to others.

     Father Joel's

 My Dear Youth,

You are not alone!

Read on for a taste of inspiration, ideas to ponder and motivate your direction, and little prayers to keep you steady.

It’s cool to be you and what’s more, it’s cool for you to connect with the Creator of the Universe, the One who set the stars in motion. This same Creator has stood by your side from the moment you beamed on to planet Earth. It’s time to understand more fully the blessings from God…meant just for you.

To change your life, if needed too, take these steps:

  1. Start immediately, there’s no reason to wait.
  2. Do it with energy, excitement and joy. It’s your whole life we’re talking about here.
  3. Don't make excuses. Make God proud! “I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jer. 29:11)

God has planned a lot of good things for you, so hang on, fasten your seat belt and get ready for the ride of your life. It’s going to be full of ups and downs and more twists and turns than a roller coaster, but you’re safe, locked in by invisible forces. Put up your hands and shout for joy!

And hopefully as we celebrate the Father’s Day this Sunday and we therefore honor them, continue to respect them, pray for them and show them our care and loving gratitude, they too may continue together with our moms, to encourage their teens to come to Jesus through Mama Mary. God bless us all!!

Co-Traveler, Fr. Joel

We begin this portion for the bulletin to create an avenue for the youth ministry to be involved in our Church-community, to voice out their minds and give them the opportunity to be enriched in their spiritual life.

On June 14, we have ‘planted the seeds’ as we gathered our young people of our parishes and started their journey with the Lord among their fellow youth, that they may find the importance of a life; witnessing to God’s love and finding joy in serving the Lord through the youth ministry.

We then pray; to enlighten the hearts of our young people and most importantly for the support of our dear parents, guardians, grandparents to go hand in hand with the Church in this spiritual endeavor. Let us pray that we may be filled with the Holy Spirit as we eagerly nurture these seeds we have planted and take pride and joy of its growth. Every one’s whole hearted collaboration may lead us to a harmonious, fruit-filled community of believers, faithful people of God.

Journeying with you all,

Fr. Joel and Fr. Francis

A small three drawer dresser has been donated to St. Michael’s Family Picnic for their silent auction from the family of Fred and Lizzie Ramsdell, who treasured it for many years.  This dresser was made by a Franciscan, Brother Dave. The Franciscans were here at St. Michael’s Parish from 1880 to 1980.   Brother Dave was here during boarding school days and was remembered for his handyman skills and toys that he would make for the children out of a chunk of wood.  Brother Dave is buried at St. Michael’s Cemetery.   The dresser will be on display in Barrett Hall after all Masses and can be bid on during our Picnic. There are also a few other items on display that will be in the Silent Auction.

It’s time to “GROW A ROW” AND “SHARE THE BOUNTY”!  These programs are hunger prevention programs which allow gardeners to bring their excess produce to drop off sites where it is distributed to families and individuals who can use it. There is no paper work for the recipient. It is a “win-win” situation because recipients get healthy food and gardeners know their produce will not be wasted.  Drop off is 1st & 3rd Monday – 11 am to 1 pm and 1st & 3rd Tuesday 11 am – 2 pm. Pick up is 1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month, 1-3 pm. This is for St. Michael’s Food Pantry.

BlestArt will be set up June 10 & 11th before and after Mass to display olivewood carvings with proceeds to benefit Catholics in the Holy Land. Please see insert in today’s bulletin.
