A Note From Your Pastor
Jesus cured Simon’s mother-in-law and others who were afflicted with various diseases. However, people were still looking for him. Jesus said to his disciples, “Let us go on to the nearby villages that I may preach there also.” Why not stay longer? Why turn his back on all those people who were in need? I think Simon’s mother-in-law and her action could give us the answer. As she was relieved of her fever, the gospel this Sunday tells us that she waited on them. I take this to mean that she attended to the needs of others.
Jesus is calling us not only to depend on him, but also to learn from him. He is inviting us to be his extensions, so to say, and attend to the needs of those people around us. And may his example and message touch our hearts so that we too may know the joy of being instruments of healing and comfort.
In Jesus,
Fr. Nonito

Universal Giving Page
The Catholic Foundation is excited to share with us that they have created a Universal Giving Page at www.catholicfoundationgb.org/donate. This is a great resource for our parish as we do not have an on line giving program. It makes giving to our parish simple and easy! The Catholic Foundation will be cutting a check weekly to our parish along with a report of what families gave to the parish and the amount of each gift.
Holy Hour will be the SECOND Thursday, of the month, February 11th 8:30 am in Church.

Just let the office know or email Anne at sailkees@yahoo.com, or send a message through the St. Michael’s Facebook page to set up a convenient time to visit. We are over loaded and have all sorts of books for all ages! Thanksgiving children’s books will be out and soon a lot of Christmas books, both for kids and adults as well as crafts and food.
