A Note From Your Pastor
Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the desert where he fasted and prayed for forty days. While he was there, Jesus was tempted by Satan, obviously thinking that he would eventually commit sin. But he could not sin because besides being human, Jesus is also a God. After the incident, Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming: “This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”
This is the same invitation of Jesus to each one of us this season of Lent. The forty days of Lent are sacred, precious and full of meaning. We are given especially the chance to repent and become personally close to God through sacrifices and prayers.
Let us answer Jesus’ invitation to change our ways and believe always in the gospel.
In Jesus Christ,
Fr. Nonito

We Are Called
Join our faith community—and more than 12,000 Catholic communities across the United States—in a life-changing Lenten journey with CRS Rice Bowl. Pick up your family’s CRS Rice Bowl from church exits on February 13 & 14. During the 40 days of Lent, we will reflect on how hunger and malnutrition affect our human family, and on the need to take action to end this global injustice. Visit crsricebowl.org to learn more.
Stations of the Cross
Stations of the Cross will be said on Friday evenings at 6 pm starting Feb. 19th in church.
St. Michael Prayer
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen
Hunger in our World
Jesus told us that whatever we did for one of these brothers of his we did for him. Reflect on the challenge of global hunger—it is a reality for millions of our sisters and brothers. What will you do to support the hungry in our community and around the world? Visit crsricebowl.org to learn more.

The Compass Fuels Faith
More than 45,000 fellow Catholics fuel their faith by reading the Diocese’s official weekly newspaper, The Compass. They’re reading the publication because it helps guide them on their faith journey. Inspirational stories from The Compass bring Christ right into their hearts and minds.
“With help from the Bishop’s Appeal, The Compass provides readers with reliable news, information and inspiration,” says Sam Lucero, News & Information Manager. “Each week, stories and columns help reveal our Catholic faith. And they deliver more than just news. They challenge readers to explore and absorb Christian values in the world today.”
The Compass is made possible by the Bishop’s Appeal; please prayerfully consider a gift today. Visit the Bishop’s Appeal website at www.catholicfoundationgb.org/give, or call Tammy toll-free at 877-500-3580, ext. 8123.
Kateri Prayer Circle
Never underestimate the power of prayer. Just one small prayer can change your life. If you or your amily members need prayers for any reason, please call one of our Kateri Prayer Circle members, who will in turn call members of their group. Soon, many prayers will be offered for your specific prayer request. Please call:

The Burden of Debt
Life can be challenging. There are times when people feel so lost. They find help through Catholic Charities and the many programs and resources in our diocese.
Amanda was in an abusive relationship that took a toll on her physically, emotionally and financially. This relationship left her battered, bruised, and in severe debt. Through God’s grace, Amanda found help from several organizations, including Catholic Charities Financial Health Program. With guidance from Bobbie Lison, Financial Health Counselor, Amanda learned to manage her money, prepared a plan to pull herself out of debt, paid her debts on-time and became self-sufficient.
“Going from $20,000 in debt to no debt…it’s amazing. It feels great,” says Amanda.
Your gift to the Bishop’s Appeal helps people like Amanda. To make a gift today contact your parish, visit the Bishop’s Appeal website at www.catholicfoundationgb.org/give, or call Tammy toll-free at 877-500-3580, ext. 8123.
Universal Giving Page
The Catholic Foundation is excited to share with us that they have created a Universal Giving Page at www.catholicfoundationgb.org/donate. This is a great resource for our parish as we do not have an on line giving program. It makes giving to our parish simple and easy! The Catholic Foundation will be cutting a check weekly to our parish along with a report of what families gave to the parish and the amount of each gift.
Holy Hour will be the SECOND Thursday, of the month, March 11th 8:30 am in Church.
Food Pantry
The food pantry will be open on Tuesday, March 2nd, 1-3 pm. . There will be drive up service only. Please do not get out of your vehicle and have the rear passenger seat empty.
Thrift N Gift/Garage
Thrift N Gift will be open Tuesday, March 2nd, noon to 3 pm. Only eight people can be in the store at one time and everyone must have on a mask. No children will be allowed. Social Distancing of 6 feet is required also.
