 Hello everyone!

Here we come to my last message on our weekly bulletin as Parish Administrator. Finally I got to this point. Next month we will have with us Fr. Nonito Barra, another Filipino priest, as our new Parish Administrator. We are for sure happy and blessed to have him join us in our parish faith journey. We will help him know us all and so journey together as disciples on the way and in some ways lead us the way. And we thank Fr. Francis for traveling with us these past 2 and half years and thanks for his service and wish him safe trip back home and new venture in priestly life in there.

So, I just want to grab this opportunity to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your patient understanding and endurance in bearing with me all these past almost 3 years. Thank you very for your friendship, kind support, sympathy, thank you for listening, thank you for your generous attention, love and care. Thank you for your deep respect and for everything I may not be able to remember.

It is always said that: “You cannot please everybody” and yes this is true, so to those whom I was not able to give what they expected, my sincerest apologies, and I just hope from my part to have or to continue to learn how to serve you better, though it be done in the hard way, I mean in a very difficult way, I will simply submit myself to it. Because I personally believe in what Pope Francis lately said to the seminarians in Rome that: “Priesthood is not an assignment but a mission.” And I think aside from that, as it always happened to me as priest, may I say that:” Priesthood is not a position but service. So, in simple, small ways that I think am to do, I do my part in this our life faith journey along with you until a new call for duty comes in, who knows when.

As we celebrate this solemnity of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, may I quote what he said referring to Jesus who was to come: “He must increase, I must decrease.” So may the Word of God continue to grow in our heart and enkindle the fire for love of Jesus.  To Him and with Him we have to personally and strive to grow in a personal relationship with Him. Let’s continue our journey. God bless!

The Mass – A slice at a time

Gestures and Bodily Posture

The gestures and bodily posture of both the Priest, the Deacon, and the ministers, and all of the people, must be conducive to making the entire celebration resplendent with beauty and noble simplicity, to making clear the true and full meaning of its different parts, and to fostering the participation of all. Attention must therefore be paid to what is determined by this General Instruction and by the traditional practice of the Roman Rite and to what serves the common spiritual good of the People of God, rather that private inclination or arbitrary choice..

Faith Formation Update

We will be starting Faith Formation again in September, 2018.   Registration forms for the 2018-2019 session are available in the main entrance of church and will be available at the St. Michael’s Family Picnic on June 24th..  Remember to keep God with you this SUMMER!

Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers Needed

Come help celebrate the Mass by joining us as a lector or Eucharistic minister on Saturday or Sundays.  Preparation is minimal and the rewards of this service are enriching and fulfilling. Please contact the Parish Office at St. Michaels if interested. (715) 799-3811.

Michael’s Cleaning Ministry

Scrubbing floors. Mopping and sweeping. It may not be glamorous work, but it’s a wonderful way to serve the Lord and give back for all of His blessings. Indeed, we are often told that “cleanliness is next to Godliness.”

Father Joel is asking a group of parishioners to Volunteer to clean the sacristy, altar, and chapel twice a month as part of the Church Cleaning Ministry. We would like to get two groups of volunteers so you would only clean once a month for two hours. We will meet the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month at 10 am. If you have any questions, please call Sylvia at 715-799-3983.  Please join us!

GOOD BYE

There will be a farewell breakfast for Fr. Francis following 10 am Mass on Sunday, July 1st. Knights of Columbus will be preparing breakfast. St. Anthony’s Parish will join us after their 10:30 am Mass that
