A Note from Fr. Joel
When God promises, He does it through. Let us keep believing in God who will never fail us because of his unending love for each of us, his beloved daughters and sons.
In our Gospel today Jesus told his disciples: “Whoever loves father and mother more than me is not worthy of me, whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me.”
Well, my dear co-travelers, this is it for me and for you. I was sent here five years ago and now called to go and serve in another parish. We priests are come and go sort of guys in parish’s life-faith journey. I am just one of the many sent and gone in the beautiful history our parish. So, I just want to say from the bottom of my heart: THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU ALL VERY VERY MUCH for all the efforts you exerted to accommodate me, accept me, to listen to me, to understand me and above all to forgive me during all these five years of my traveling with you as your priest. Yes, life is truly beautiful and lessons are learned everywhere and I learned some here too through you and with you. I will always treasure our memories and will keep you all in my heart and prayers. God bless you all.
Signing off,
Fr. Joel A. Jores, MF
Good Bye Fr. Joel

Conditions for Holy Communion to children
Concerning the adequate preparation, the General Catechetical Directory refers to the moral conscience of the child. This can be considered to be sufficient (the right speaks of confession and Eucharist jointly) when the child is able to form an idea “about God as our Lord and Father, about his love towards us, about Jesus, the Son of God, who became man for us, died and rose again. As the child considers the love of God, he will gradually be able to perceive the malice of sin which is always offensive to God the Father and to Jesus, and which is opposed to the charity with which we must love our neighbor and ourselves. We consider these words to be the best commentary on what the legislator understands by the mystery of Christ. Obviously, the faith and devotion required for receiving the Eucharist, given the previous knowledge, are easily presumed from the moment the child is capable of distinguishing the Body of the Lord from ordinary bread, which is minimum condition in danger of death.
Caregivers of Dementia Call in Support Group
Every Monday morning there is a call-in support group for caregivers of those with dementia. This is a free support group that begins at 10:00 am. To register, please call the Alzheimer’s Association at 1-800-272-3900. Once registered, you will receive the information needed to join the call-in support group.

St. Michael Prayer
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen

2020 FUNDRAISERS
Due to COVID-19, the 2020 fundraisers at St. Michael’s have been suspended until it is safe to resume. The Festival scheduled for June 27th has been our biggest fundraising event raising on average $10,000. We are suggesting a non-fundraiser fundraiser in lieu of this big event. You do not need to sell or buy raffle tickets, cook anything, bake anything, volunteer your time, work in the heat, set up, clean up or do dishes! We would be grateful for monetary donations to offset the loss of this source of revenue to keep our Parish solvent. Please mail or drop off donations at the Parish office or drop in the collection basket indicating it is for fundraising. Thank you for your continued support of our Parish during this time.

Soon, many prayers will be offered for your specific prayer request. Please call:
Fay Waupochick 715-799-3437

Universal Giving Page
The Catholic Foundation is excited to share with us that they have created a Universal Giving Page at www.catholicfoundationgb.org/donate. This is a great resource for our parish as we do not have an on line giving program. It makes giving to our parish simple and easy! The Catholic Foundation will be cutting a check weekly to our parish along with a report of what families gave to the parish and the amount of each gift.
Holy Hour will be resumed July 2, 2020 6-7pm.
Food Pantry
The food pantry will be open on Tuesday, July 7th and July 21st, 1-3 pm. There will be drive up service only. Please do not get out of your vehicle and have the back passenger seat empty.
St. Michael’s Thrift N Gift
Thrift N Gift will be open Tuesday, July 7th and 21st, noon to 3 pm. Only eight people can be in the store at one time and everyone must have on a mask. No children will be allowed. Please call to make sure someone is available. (715) 799-3811.
