  Note from Father Joe;

The four weekends of this month of June are all huge liturgical celebrations of the Church and for the Church; ASCENSION, PENTECOST, HOLY TRINITY and this weekend we celebrate CORPUS CHRISTI.

Yes liturgically speaking these celebrations are huge landmarks of our faith journey. But maybe practically speaking, most of us are more focused on our summer activities that are more enjoyable, right or left? hehehe. Well, enjoy then because all the things, warm weather, lakes, woods, food and drinks, accommodations, family gatherings, kids, grandchildren, time, space, air, etc. etc, and what we do during summer are all gifts of the Holy Trinity and they are all tools and opportunities for us to realize how abundantly loving and forgiving our God is. Let’s be thankful by coming to Church together regularly. And yes, today as we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, we are reminded by the liturgy of the importance of this truth that we absolutely need all the time as very essential food for our journey.

In the Gospel, having healed the sick people the whole day, Jesus has compassion for the people and asks the Twelve to give them something to eat but it was impossible for the apostles to provide what was needed. We also experience this desperation of being able to provide for our love ones due to lack of resources, our jar is dried up. But Jesus took their very meager resources, looked up to heaven, blessed them and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. They all ate and satisfied, with 12 baskets of leftovers gathered.

From our humbly generosity of the little that we got, when given to Jesus out of love and faith, trust, can benefit thousands of hungry people around the community we belong, around the globe whenever and wherever needed.

Generously and abundantly He gives us Himself in the Holy Eucharist and so generously we have to do the same to one another with humble and penitent heart.

A blessed Corpus Christ Sunday to all!

Co-Traveler, Fr .Joel, mf

The Feast of Corpus Christi (Latin for "Body of Christ") is a Catholic liturgical solemnity celebrating the real presence of the body and blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, in the elements of the Eucharist—known as transubstantiation. Two months earlier, the Eucharist is observed on Maundy Thursday in a sombre atmosphere leading to Good Friday. The liturgy on that day also commemorates Christ's washing of the disciples' feet, the institution of the priesthood and the agony in the Garden of Gethsemane. The feast of Corpus Christi was established to create a feast focused solely on the Holy Eucharist emphasizing the joy of the Eucharist being the body and blood of Jesus Christ.

The Mass – A slice at a time

On Eucharistic Prayer

c) The Epiclesis, in which by means of particular invocations, the Church implores the power of the Holy Spirit that the gifts offered by human hands be consecrated, that is, become Christ’s Body and Blood, and that the unblemished sacrificial Victim to be consumed in Communion may be for the salvation of those who will partake of it

Kateri Prayer Circle

Never underestimate the power of prayer. Just one small prayer can change your life. If you or your family members need prayers for any reason, please call one of our Kateri Prayer Circle members, who will in turn call members of their group.  Soon, many prayers will be offered for your specific prayer request.  Please call:

Fay Waupochick 715-799-3437

Leatha Grinhaug 715-994-1098

You can also call the parish office with your Prayer request 715-799-3811.

Live the Liturgy – Inspiration for the Week

Jesus tells his disciples, "I am sending you like lambs among wolves." Getting people to see the truth about who they are is not always easy or welcomed. Some people want to believe that they have life under control and they do not need any further advice, direction, or challenge from others. Being heralds of the Gospel means doing precisely that. We come with a message that is not always welcome or desired by our sisters and brothers. Yet, it is desperately

needed. People need to be reminded of who they are, who God is, and the necessity of repentance for entering the

Kingdom of God. It is not about what we want but what God wants. We are called to be peacemakers and laborers for justice and mercy. Are you willing to bring this challenging message to those who may be indifferent or even hostile to hearing it?
