Mission Statement: St. Michael’s Christian Community, located on the Menominee Indian Reservation, is a diverse Christian community reaching out to all residents, learning, loving, sharing and communicating with one another through the teachings and practices celebrated in the Mass & the holy sacraments of the Catholic Church by integrating sacred symbols and spiritual practices of the Menominee.

A Note From Your Pastor

Holy Week starts with our observance of Palm Sunday wherein we commemorate Jesus’ triumphant entry to Jerusalem. The crowd that filled Jerusalem came out to meet Jesus, welcomed him as their king who would save them from their oppressors especially the Romans. They waved palm branches and chanted songs in homage to him.

Jesus rode on a donkey, not on a powerful horse or chariot, to fulfill the oracle of the Prophet Zechariah of a meek king entering Jerusalem. However, the humble ride did not hide the kingly dignity of Jesus, for as the rest of the oracle revealed that he shall proclaim peace to the nations. And this was achieved through his passion, death and resurrection.

As we go back to our homes with the palms blessed in Church today, let us put them in a prominent place to remind us to offer prayers of love and adoration to Jesus, our King.

Mass will be Live Streamed on Sunday at 9 am. Please go to St. Michael’s Facebook page:  St. Michael’s Church to watch this live Mass.

Serving the Suffering Christ

As we enter Holy Week and celebrate Palm Sunday, let’s reflect on how our Lord suffered from our indifference; those who proclaimed him king of Jerusalem were the same who called to crucify him. We recognize we are all one human family. Are we contributing to the suffering of our sisters and brothers without indifference to their realities? How does our faith inspire us to care for them and share the gifts that God has bestowed on us? Visit to learn more.

Religious Education Update

Due to the current COVID situation, St. Michael’s Faith Formation classes will not be meeting.   If you wish to have packets sent to your home, please call the parish office or pick up a form in the entrance to church.

Welcome to our new Priest, Fr. Hanz

I am Fr. Hanz Christian Purcia Borbor, a 44-year-old priest born on September 21, 1975. I finished my primary and secondary studies in my native place in Tigaon, Camarines Sur, Philippines. I accomplished my Philosophical studies in 1994 and completed my Theological studies in 2003 at the Holy Rosary Major Seminary in Naga City, Philippines.

After long years of formation in the seminary, I was ordained deacon on June 27, 2003. As a newly ordained deacon, Metropolitan Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Caceres in Naga City and Saint Anthony of Padua Parish, Presentacion, Camarines Sur, Philippines became my parish assignments.

After a year of service as a deacon, I was ordained priest on June 11, 2004, in my native place at Saint Raphael the Archangel Parish, Tigaon, Camarines Sur, Philippines.

Saint Mary Magdalene Parish in Bula, Camarines Sur, Philippines, was my first assignment as a parochial vicar for two years. Subsequently, I became an assistant pastor for two years at the Parish of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in Garchitorena, Camarines Sur. Right after my stay in Garchitorena, I became an assistant pastor at Saint Anthony of Padua Parish, Iriga City, for two years.

My last and shortest assignment as an assistant pastor that lasted for only ten days was at the Parish of Saint Martin de Porres, Tagongtong, Goa, Camarines Sur.  Right after my assignment at Saint Martin de Porres, the Archbishop of Caceres appointed me as the new pastor of a coastal Parish of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, Caramoan, Camarines Sur, Philippines from 2010-2015. My first experience as a pastor prepared me to handle another parish assignment again as a pastor in Mater Salutis Parish in Naga City, Philippines, happen to be my home for nearly five years from 2015 to 2020.

On April 9, 2020, the Archbishop of Caceres assigned me as a missionary priest here in Wisconsin. In my almost 17 years in the priesthood, I have met different people in various places and encountered several challenges that motivated me to serve more the Lord and his people.

St. Michael Prayer

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.  May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.  Amen
