Notes from Father Joel
Finally we are at the last Sunday of this unpredictable weather of March. But about the Word of God that is given to us in this Lenten season, is pretty much predictable as far as results or fruits is concern. So far so good attendance with our Station of the Cross in the four parishes. Mass attendance to is just fine.
Rightly so then, that this Sunday is traditionally called Laetare Sunday - meaning Happy Sunday...in the sense that in anticipation it celebrates the joy of the upcoming Easter mystery as announced by prophet Isaiah in the Old Testament to the exiles of Israel and those in Jerusalem.
The liturgy celebrations and the Word of God invite us to rejoice. “Today I have removed the reproach of Egypt from you” as the first reading tells us. And then “Taste and see the goodness of the Lord” in our Responsorial Psalm. And in the Gospel the lost son is found again, he has come back to life. Both the older and younger son were found again. And we are those brothers before our loving and forgiving Father in heaven. So be happy and don't worry you found your way back to life every time you say like Mama Mary: “I am the handmaid of the Lord, let it be done to me according to your word.” Please continue to feed your soul with the sacraments of love and healing.

The Mass – A slice at a time
Likewise it is also for the Priest, in the exercise of this office of presiding over the gathered assembly, to offer certain explanations that are foresee in the rite itself. Where this is laid down by the rubrics, the celebrant is permitted to adapt them somewhat so that they correspond to the capacity for understanding of those participating. However, the Priest should always take care to keep to the sense of the explanatory text given in the Missal and to express it in just a few words.
Faith Formation
On Wednesday March 27th Faith Formation students 2nd grade and up celebrated Reconciliation with Fr. Nonito. We had three of our 2nd grade students make their First Reconciliation. Thank you to all the Catechists for preparing our students. We also watched the Diocese mandated Safe Environment videos. Next Wednesday April 3rd, the students will attend Stations of the Cross. Everyone is welcome to attend. We will start at 6:15 pm. We will have regular class April 10th and a reminder there will be no classes April 17th because we begin Holy Week.

Join Mark Preissner, author of "Will the Real Father Please Stand Up", as he presents "Boundaries". Mark will help us learn what a boundary is and how we can create boundaries with those around us to safeguard our time, talents, resources and personal desires. World’s Poor Collection March 30-31
This weekend (March 30-31), we will sponsor a special collection for the World’s Poor, This collection combines an appeal for four Catholic agencies who serve the poor and those living on the edge of society all over the world. This collection includes Catholic Relief Services, the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, Peter’s Pence, and the Pastoral Solidarity Fund for the Church in Africa. In this collection, you have a choice to contribute to any one or all four funds, by designating an amount of each.

Stations of the Cross
We will be saying Stations of the Cross every Thursday evening from 6-6:30 pm during Lent. Consider giving a half hour a week in prayer during Lent.
FISH FRY
Mark Your Calendars - St. Michael will be having our second fish fry on Friday, April 5th from 3:30 – 6:30 pm. We are looking for monetary donations to defray the cost of the fish. Any amount would be helpful and can be given to the Parish Office. Thank You.

Special Lenten Healing Mass on April 8, 6 pm at Sacred Heart, Shawano. There will be Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick and Mass. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament after Mass and specially trained Healing Ministry teams available for individual prayer

Lenten Penance Service
Join us for the healing of the Sacrament of Reconciliation on April 10th at 6:00pm at our Lenten Penance Service at St. Francis Solanus and Monday, April 15 at St. Anthony.
Classes
The Community Resource Center in Keshena offers an array of classes including computer skills, preparing for employment, and much more. Classes are open to the general public. Call 715-799-5137 for more information.
Holy Hour
Holy Hour will be cancelled on April 4th as we will be saying Stations of the Cross on Thursdays during Lent at 6 pm
Food Pantry
The food pantry will be open Tuesday, April 2nd and 16thfrom 1-3 pm. We are in need of brown paper bags, pork and beans, pasta, canned fruit and Mac & Cheese.
St. Michael’s Thrift N Gift
Thrift & Gift will be open, April 2nd and 16th from Noon to 3 pm. If you have a donation, it can be dropped off at the Parish Office or Thrift N Gift. We are currently looking for silverware and we are in need of towels.
Book Share
Book share is open the second Sunday of the month following 9 am Mass in conjunction with Fellowship Sunday. Will you consider hosting one of the Sundays left this year? It would be greatly appreciated! Remember we have books for all ages, lots of cookbooks, resource books and religious too!
